Devorgilla Bridge, named after
the 13th Century Princess of Galloway who had it built here
to allow pilgrims to reach Sweetheart Abbey. The original
wooden bridge was eventually replaced in stone.
- Lady Devorgilla and her
husband, John Balliol, also founded Balliol College, the
oldest College in Oxford University
